The fairy lights have a very pleasant warm white light, you do not notice that LEDs and not traditional incandescent lamps lights! The light chain is transformerless, so no mains disconnection! The LEDs are all connected in series, each with a resistor, if one fails, they are all off (as before!). So only 1x approx. 20mA flows! There is a small transparent housing in the mains supply line, it contains an SMD rectifier bridge, nothing else. There would be room here for a switch, so that the plug would not always have to be pulled out to switch on and off. I have retrofitted this switch. The chain runs with a high DC voltage, because of the lack of mains isolation, damaged insulation or cable breaks are life-threatening - the beautiful chain should not be exposed to rain and moisture and is absolutely taboo for children! Only use indoors! Be careful with water-filled containers (vases, fountains, etc.) Pets that gnaw on cables should also be kept away (rabbits, mice, rats, birds, etc.); it is better to use fairy lights with a transformer. The 5mm LEDs are specially shaped, with a `funnel` at the top that deflects the light sideways. This makes the light all the more similar to that of incandescent bulbs! The grid rectification (frequency doubling!) prevents annoying flickering (50Hz), as the chain flickers at 100Hz, which can no longer be perceived, making the light appear completely calm, just like with incandescent lamps! Positive! So overall recommendable, but the price seems quite high! A switch in the cable would certainly have fitted into the calculation!
