We chose this lamp as the main spheric light above in a large staircase. It is truly an impressive object. Hundreds of perfect round shells, with each two tiny holes, stitched together with thin nylon thread. And then the packaging, which is also a class on it`s own. Imagine the work that has gone into this process, I think the lamp is a bargain (double the price, and I still would think it is worth it - hope the producers earn something as well). The lamp is stunning, the construction is handwork but expect it not to be by first world standards. The black metal pieces were the bulbs go in are a bit flimsy, the paint is not powder coated, but done by hand I guess. The main problem I ran into was the ceiling attachment. The manual is clear, but the overall construction is a bit off. Now I have got this 8 kg object hanging 6 meters above on two screws and a bunch of nylon threads. I hope it stays safe there. Hey, I pulled, it did not came off:) By the way; installing it, including fitting, unpacking, connecting, hanging etc), took me around two hours. Over all: + on time delivery + very well packed + impressive object + very cheap concerning the amount of labour + good quality shells + natural look - inside metal work is bit untidy - manual is short and only handles about the ceiling part construction - each row of shells is packed folded into a small plastic bag for transport. Watch carefully you don`t cut the thread when using a pair of scissors to open it, it will fall off the metal ring. - hanging 8 kgs on nylon threads (ok, they are thick, they come double, but still) might not hold forever, but time will tell. Final: impressive object, worth every penny but expect some handwork quality.
