The river stone mortar is a real gem in my kitchen. The weight of the pestle means that mortaring is no witchcraft. The mortar is quite heavy due to the material, which is not a disadvantage for mortaring as it stands well on the work surface without slipping. Too bad that a small piece was broken off at the edge of the stone :- /

Stone mortar made of hard, round-washed river stone. Each stone has a slightly different shape. The milled mortar opening is approx. 8 cm. The stone pestle is approx. 16 cm long. The mortar and pestle are made from two different stones. These naturally differ slightly in color. This is not a defect, but emphasizes the uniqueness of this elaborately handcrafted product. Each mortar/pestle is unique and therefore unique in shape and color.
