Prayer/wishing flag approx. 1.60 m long, with 4 holding cords for knotting (without stick). The practice of wishing flags can be much more than a decorative element of an exotic culture: it is an aesthetic-artistic and deeply spiritual expression of our unifying wish for peace, harmony and happiness on our planet Earth. The spiritual dimension of this Tibetan custom from the eleventh century has nothing to do with foreign superstition, but is part of a process that the Dalai Lama calls the science of the mind. A science that refers to the intensive observation of nature and spirit and the interaction of all phenomena. In this context, it is not surprising that modern medicine and the natural sciences confirm this basic idea today. None of our actions of body, speech and mind remain sterile; each produces a result. This in turn depends on the underlying motivation. Thus, even a seemingly simple custom such as the practice of prayer flags, accompanied by wishes for our friends, our environment and also for people with whom we are in conflict, can have a multiple healing effect - both for the person who fulfills this custom with sincere motivation and for the circle for which this practice is carried out. Moreover, the wind touches these prayers and wishes, and with the wind they touch our environment and everything that lives. Their aesthetic-artistic presence reminds us of the power of our wishes and may help us to pause for a moment in our hectic everyday life and dwell in presence. On the level of dzog.chen, bdquo;lung.tha ldquo, describes the transformative state of mind, where even obstacles turn into supportive situations along the way. The flags are printed in five different colors and with them the five different elements are touched: Blue: air, white: space, red: fire, green: water, yellow: earth. The wind horse in the middle symbolizes the directness and speed with which the wishes are conveyed. In the upper part there are Sanskrit mantras in Tibetan script, which address the spiritual forces in our surroundings and within ourselves.
